Perhaps a better way of putting it would be derby-style combat.
"Yori Hall. We use one of the hangars as a green room." He leads Mark out of the building and onto a central green ringed with various buildings. At the centre of the green is a large statue of four sprites. In keeping with the fine traditions of school campi everywhere, the elderly one has a flowerpot on his head.
Mark pauses in front of the statues. Three men and a woman, dressed in something similar to the uniforms of the Guardians that fill the campus, standing in heroic poses. "The Founders, I presume?"
He refuses to comment on the flower pot. The bust of Reginald Vel Johnson that adorns the foyer of his high school has been adorned with worse. (Mark's favorite was the souvenir sombrero from Tijuana that someone had managed to sneak past the school security in time for Cinco de Mayo.)
Mark nods. "Cool. Santa Cruz, the school I'm heading to next fall, just has this weird abstract sundial. I think some rich guy donated it, and no one wanted to turn him down."
"At least, it did when I took the tour. They might have had to take it down. A cyborg committed suicide on it.
Mark laughs. "I know. It was the strangest thing. It came busting through a wall, almost killed a security guard, tossed me into a wall, and then impaled itself on the spiky bit of the sundial." He shakes his head. "Weirdest thing I've run into since I started as a superhero."
Mark nods. "As far as I could tell. There was nobody between it and the sundial. So, unless it was a violent critic of modern sculpture with a bad aim, it was trying to kill itself."
"Well, anyway. The academic buildings are named after Tron and his friends too. We're going to Yori Hall, it's got the vehicle hangars, and some labs. Those domes over there are the PE cluster, and the tower's the dorms."
Mark follows Enzo's gestures, taking in the surrounding buildings. "Cool. Let's head on in. I'm sure everyone has questions for the 'Webcreature'." His tone says he's smiling when he says it, even if his face doesn't move.
An astute observer might be able to see the top of Mark's "goggles" lift in surprise at the password, much like someone's eyebrows might. "Cute," he murmurs. Clearly, this is the backstage door.
When the cautious doorsprite admits them, he follows Enzo into the hall. This is clearly a planned event; he's following his guide's lead.
"Hey, says Mark, raising a hand in greeting. "I'm not really sure how 'Viltrumite' ended up as 'Webcreature', but apparently it did." He shrugs. "The things you get from your parents."
"It's probably the closest filetype in our world that makes sense," says a tall, thin orange boy. "Enzo's converter seems to do that a lot."
Enzo nods. "Mark, this is Caret, Alvey's boyfriend. He plays theremin. That's Value on bass, Tone on drums and her guy, Balun, and Amy on rhythm guitar, and that's Joseph."
"Hi," says Joseph. "Please don't eat us."
Amy adds, "With what they feed us, I doubt we'd taste very good."
"Do I look like I'd eat you?" Mark asks. Then: "Don't answer that; I've seen what I look like." From his tone, he's amused, though the face is as impassive as ever. "Nice to meet you all. Enzo's told me all about you... well, okay he hasn't, but if he had, I'm sure it would be all good things."
