One of the best things to do in Autobase is, of course, explore. Particularly in places you're not entirely sure you're allowed in.

"What's through here... oh, cool!" It's a vehicle bay, capacious as everything in Autobase, housing mostly Jeeps with the occasional Humvee.

And having ghost powers makes sneaking into exploring those off-limits areas all the more fun.

"Wow," Dani comments. This room would make probably any car guy drool.

That's not drool, Enzo... um... just hit the water fountain. When you weren't looking.

"Check it out, there's guns on top of some of them!"

"Probably 'cause it's hard to fire a gun from inside a truck," Dani says with a grin.

[a1enzo]

"Yeah, good point."

Enzo is already climbing up the back of one to get a better look at the gun.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?"

[a1enzo]

"I'm not gonna touch it, I just want to see."

He won't, either. He's studied guns, he knows to be careful.

Dani shrugs, then climbs up onto the truck with him.

No reason he can't not get into trouble alone...

Enzo has a semi-professional look at the gun's grip, its loading mechanism, and has a squint through the crosshairs, all without touching it.

Of course, he might have to hold onto Dani for balance.

If he does, she doesn't mind at all.

"I wonder how often they have to use these things," she muses.

[a1enzo]

"I hope not much. But you want to have 'em, just in case." He smiles at her. "Like with heroes and Guardians! If things are going good, they don't need us at all."

Dani laughs, and looks at him coyly. "Right. But you can't thank a gun like you can a hero or a Guardian."

He's about to say something about how you could but the gun probably wouldn't tell you you're welcome, but the way she's looking at him derails that thought and replaces it with:

"How'd you have in mind?"

"Well, the hero always gets the girl in the end, doesn't he?" she asks, getting just a little bit closer.

"Mm-hmm." He moves the hand on her arm up to her shoulder. "An' if she's a hero too, I guess they have to thank each other."

"That they would," she agrees.

[a1enzo]

That sounds like his cue, and if not... well, it had better be.

"Thanks," he murmurs just before making contact.

[ami_imperfect]

"My pleasure," is all Dani has time to reply before her lips touch Enzo's.

Mmm. They should do this more often while he's still half-human.

And how.

He's totally unused to some of the signals his organic body is sending him, but he's not inclined argue with them. One such signal is informing him that his usual manner of kissing is wholly inadequate, and he ought to be moving his mouth more, like grown-ups do. He complies.

Enzo's movements surprise Dani a little, but her body is sending her signals of its own. And one of those signals is saying that what Enzo's doing is right, and that she should be doing something similar. So she does.

Oh, that's... mmmm. So that's why they do that. The fingers of one hand twine lightly into her ponytail.

Occasionally, of course, he has to pull back just enough to gasp in some air. During his second breather, he holds off long enough to smirk and ask her, "Does this mean you have to blast me now?"

Dani just smirks right back.

"I'm not going to tell Danny about this, are you?" she responds.

And what Danny doesn't know can't hurt Enzo.

"Mm-mmm. Or Dot."

She did say something about Users having trouble with impulse control... but she must have been mistaken.

Okay, that's enough conversation.

Ironhide has been known for a long, long time as something of a paranoid mech. It's not that he's actually convinced the world is out to get him; it's that he's cynical as hell, and he believes that things will, eventually, go wrong somewhere. Fortunately, he's in a position to put that belief to good use: base patrol, both outdoors and in. He does that a lot, especially when he's had a long day working with Grimlock.

Today was a very long day.

He's making his sweep this evening in 'bot mode. Alt mode is all right, but he likes being able to see and scan from his usual height. The TopKick's a little too low to the ground to get all the data he wants. He's also making his sweep with his dampener field in effect, so that the sound of his passage doesn't spook any of the soldiers; it worked at the Witwickys', it works here.

It works well enough, in fact, that when his scan picks up two organics somewhere they're not supposed to be and he heads their way, it would take someone actively looking to find him. And from what he's seeing, they're very definitely not looking. This should be good...

goes one metallic finger against the other end of the Humvee where the two youngsters are situated.

Code, this is amazing, I should be human more often, she smells so good, is that raspbAAAUUUGH!

Enzo jerks spasmodically away from Dani. Unfortunately, his startlement causes the hand that was playing with her hair to tighten.

Dani was enjoying the moment too, right up until the hair-pulling that is.

"Ow! Enzo, wha-"

Then she looks over, and catches sight of the 'bot watching them.

"Uh-oh."

"This," says Ironhide firmly, from about three feet away, "is really not the place to be doing that."

Enzo releases Dani's ponytail and cowers back from the GIANT METAL FACE.

"Uhhh, yeah. Sorry, Ironhide, sir. We were just, uh, looking around, and we..."

His self-preservation instinct, unreliable though it may be, pipes up on this occasion to suggest that he should perhaps shut up now. He licks his lips nervously, blinks, and scrubs with the back of his hand at the shiny patches of lip gloss surrounding his mouth.

"Kinda got...caught up in a moment?" Dani finishes for him.

She shoots Ironhide her best innocent look.

"I would go back to the rest of the humans on base if I were you," says Ironhide, not moving any further away. "Someone's going to come looking for you very soon."

That doesn't sound like a prediction, or even a promise. That sounds like a threat.

Nnnnngh. "Yessir! Right away, sir." Enzo crab-scrabbles backwards until his hands feel the edge of the roof; he hesitates for a moment, then swings his legs around and climbs down, not taking his eyes off the Autobot until the Humvee blocks him from view.

And Dani's right behind him, only she's trying not to look at Ironside as she climbs down from the Humvee.

Once he's behind the vehicle, he does wish he could just hide there, but it's out of the question.

As they head for the exit, he pauses and looks back at Ironhide. "Please don't tell anyone?" he blurts.

It's unlikely to get back to Danny regardless, but Dot's another story.

"I may have to report it to Optimus," says Ironhide. "Beyond that I doubt it's anyone else's business."

Enzo sags with relief. Optimus, he figures, is okay. Optimus can be discreet. He'll probably chuckle in an avuncular manner.

He might stick them in the brig for a few hours, but that's infinitely better than a sisterly lecture.

"Yessir. Thanks," he says, and flees the premises with Dani.

"Oh, man," he pants when they're clear.

"This so doesn't get back to Danny," Dani says between pants.

Enzo shakes his head as he catches his breath. "No more making out in restricted sectors," he vows.

She looks over at Enzo with a somewhat worried expression. "We're gonna get in trouble, aren't we?"

[a1enzo]

"Oh, yeah. Prob'ly not too bad if Optimus's the one punishing us, but..." He grimaces. "I just hope he doesn't tell Dot. Rather be thrown in the brig."

He gives her a weak smile. "Sorry. It was real nice while it lasted, though..."

"Yeah, it was," she agrees.

The smile grows into a smirk. "I'm kinda hungry for raspberries now."

"Very funny." So Dani does the mature thing and sticks her tongue out at him.

"No, I mean it! Weird, huh?"

[ami_imperfect]

"Yeah, I guess." She grins.

[a1enzo]

"Think we've got time to get to the mess hall before they come to take us away?"

[ami_imperfect]

"Hope so."

[a1enzo]

"Least we won't waste away." He grins wickedly. "You get skeletons in dungeons, you know."

[ami_imperfect]

"We won't wind up in a dungeon, we're gonna wind up in the brig," Dani retorts, exasperated. "There are no skeletons in the brig."

Unlike dungeons, brigs get regularly cleaned and maintained.

"Yeah, I guess not. No giant spiders, either."
