ReBoots in Disguise!

Enzo really ought to be in sleep mode, but he's too fascinated by one of his gifts. It's easy enough for a sprite to find the indicated patterns in the lights on the ceiling, but he's much less clear on how, say, that group constitutes a dragon.

WARNING: INCOMING GAME. WARNING: INCOMING GAME.

Dude! This is the first Game since his birthday! And it's at night, too. What if everyone's asleep? What if no one makes it in? He can't know for sure. As a Guardian, he's obligated to enter that Game, by code and by duty.

Of course, he's out the window and halfway to the cube on his new boogie baud by the time he's finished thinking this...

Matrix turns to look at Bob and Dot as they approach. He raises an eyebrow when he notices their disheveled looks, but doesn't say anything about it.

"Not too bad," he says. He points towards Enzo. "It was his idea that helped us beat it."

"Enzo!" She looks in the direction Matrix is pointing, crash he snuck out of the house AGAIN.

Dot looks at Bob. "I thought you said it was just Matrix heading for the--" She trails off as she puts the pieces together. "...Glitch couldn't tell them apart, could it?"

Well, it's not like she should have expected Enzo to ignore his Guardian protocol a second time around.

"...no." Bob facepalms. "They're both Guardian cadets and they both have the same base code. At that distance there was no way of telling the difference."

Enzo, who's been puffed up with pride since Matrix spoke, cocks his head at this. "Where were you guys, anyway? Matrix was already there when I arrived, and he started from further away."

Bob and Dot exchange a Significant Glance.

"Uh..."

"Uhmm.....We were watching a movie at Bob's place and fell asleep." Dot explains, with a not-too-convincing expression.

"Yeah, that's it! We didn't come because we were both so tired, and we knew you could handle it, Matrix, so..."

Well, that's not suspicious at all. Enzo stares at them. "Were you... being grown-up?" he demands.

Dot blushes and sputters for a bit, getting flustered. "Enzzooo..."

Uhhhh-huh. He glances at Matrix. "They were, weren't they."

Ew, ew, ew. That's his sister. Not something he wanted to think about.

"That's, uh, their business. Don't ask stuff like that."

Enzo rolls his eyes. Grown-ups are so weird. Shaking his head, he walks away, declaring, "As long as it works."
