"I think she's around, sugar, but her aim was off a bit," Mouse says. She pulls an icon from a little pouch on her belt and holds it out to Enzo. "Got you that corsage y'wanted fer your girl."
Dani holds it in her hands, looking at it in surprise and awe. "Really? Thanks."
She looks over her clothing format, trying to figure out a suitable place to put the icon. Finally she settles on her belt, over where the buckle would be.
Oracle moves smoothly up the stairs (she's got legs!) shaking her head, "I need to recalibrate my interface algorithms. I was off by one floor. Which was a bit disorienting, let me tell you. And the door to the closet on the first floor was closed, so for a second there I thought I might have mis-jumped." She trails off, "You guys didn't have any problems, I take it?"
"The garage," Dot looks towards Mouse. "We have some cars with hidden file commands for everyone from Milliways. Then it's a short trip to a secret lab in sector G-prime."
She's not taking any chances of any media sprites getting so much as a byte of information of this.
"It's a secret lab? Why's it a secret lab and not just a normal lab?"
He trusted Bob and Dot and even some of their friends that he didn't know, like Mouse, with his life. After all, if Bob and Dot and Enzo trusted them, then they were trustworthy.
But that was with his life. This was Dani's life, so he indulged in a little paranoia.
He just didn't like the term 'secret lab,' not after winding up strapped to medical exam tables on more than one occasion (thank you Vlad and Spectra).
When the system restarted, the virus-scan replaced Silicon Tor with what used to be there before Megabyte had it constructed. The original buildings are in good repair - the system restored them, as everything, in pristine condition - but after not existing for so long, some of them are still standing disused. They are, in fact, abandoned warehouses, even if they don't much look the part.
A pair of bots are patrolling in opposite directions around one of the smaller warehouses. They somehow manage to smack into each other every time they cross paths, twice per circuit.
As the car approaches, they stop circling and stand to attention, clanging off each other sideways. "All clear, sir ma'am!"
"Well, that sucked," Danny said, getting out and stretching his legs, not that anyone could see him doing it. He'd eschewed the hidden file commands for his own comfortable invisibility (which wasn't an option for Dani, of course). The stretching was mostly out of habit. He wasn't sure if he even had anything resembling muscles under there anymore--didn't feel like it.
It still felt weird. Of course, he always felt weird in general, but at least he'd gotten familiar with half-ghost weird.
This was a different kind of weird.
His code made him still feel the urge to throw on a cape and find the nearest villainous ne'er-do-well and bring them to justice.
After going visible again, he went human--sprite again and looked around, then looked back towards where Dani should be.
"Oh, it wasn't that bad." Dani's voice comes from somewhere in the backseat of the car. There's the sight of other people's legs being jostled then the sound of a pair of feet hitting the ground before Dani uncloaks herself.
Of course, her difference of opinion could come from the fact that she managed to finagle herself a seat beside Enzo for the trip.
"They're pronouncing it with a Y," Danny said to Dani. "I can practically hear them pronouncing your name with a Y, so I'm hearing 'Miss' in front of my name, and that? Is disturbing."
It's still a bedroom, though, cheerily decorated but not containing any particular decorations that might indicate a permanent resident. What it does contain is:
four vases full of flowers. Flowers in cyberspace are a great deal more regularly formed, and there aren't nearly so many varieties as in Userspace, but all the varieties there are appear to be accounted for here.
a ridiculous number of get-well balloons in various cutesy designs. Good luck finding the ceiling.
sitting in the far corner, as requested, a green Guardian bear. Not a standard one, though. It sports a cadet uniform, and it would be three pixels tall (just short of Enzo's own height) if its legs weren't too floppy for it to stand unsupported.
"I heard her voice," came a voice from down the hall.
Then, "Where do you think you're going, short stuff? We shouldn't exactly bumrush her and I'm the clone'ee-slash-big-brother figure. With the visiting, I have first dibs."
"Because she probably feels like crud, and she might not be up to a bunch of people crowding her. When I feel like crud, I hate people crowding me. And she's my clone."
So there.
Of course, she did have a different personality in many ways, but Danny was ignoring that for the sake of his illogical logic.

Getting SEVEN people crammed into one car together was an ordeal that she was pretty sure everyone will be happy is over now.
