"Okay, I'm gonna use CORO to attack FTRIC," says Enzo, pushing two units along a line on the map. The random number generators click out the attack values.

The visit is now well into its second... second, and there's only so much you can do to keep yourself occupied around the house. Enzo has dug out some old circuit board games; they've already played Pixelnary, and now they're on RISC.

Danny was looking exceedingly bored. He really wasn't the board game type. More the video game type, which, even if they had anything like video games, what if there was an even tinier society of sentient microprograms inside--ow, now he was thinking too hard.

Anyway, no video games when you were inside a computer, and so he was laying next to the game board, very lazily looking over and moving his pieces with the hand closest to the board without sitting up, whenever it was his turn.

"Do you have anything on TV that isn't weird advertisements for empty buckets or people reciting jokes we don't understand in binary?"

"Not this cycle." He did check the listings. He'd rather take them circuit racing or jetballing, himself, but even if they went invisible, no one goes to such places alone.

"Do you think they'd get mad at us if we went out just in sprite mode? I mean, as long as I don't go ghost, no one'll recognize me from the fight with Daemon, right?"

He was getting ANSI.

...Oh god, he'd been here too long. He was even thinking in computer puns.

Enzo ponders this, then shakes his head with a grimace. "There's not that many data sprites in Mainframe. People'd notice anyone new."

"And Dot and Bob want us to lay low because of the whole 'you and other people from Milliways coming to fight Daemon' thing," chimes in Dani as she waits for her turn.

A little while before the call to Enzo, Matrix had gotten the call about the Neovirals' activities, and he, AndrAIa, and Ray quickly headed out to handle the situation.

The Neovirals had never been much of a threat to warrant bringing all three of them, but Matrix would rather be over-prepared than under.

"Fraggin' Neovirals," Matrix muttered as they approach Ghetty Prime. "Always gotta choose the worst time to cause trouble."

He had been in the middle of tuning up his bike when the call came in, which explains why he was currently using only his much slower zipboard to get there.

AndrAIa cruised alongside Matrix as the duo made their way towards the disturbance. "Well, what is it today? Eight units say inappropriate graffiti caricatures again."

"I got sixteen on handing out horribly written pamphlets," Matrix said as he shot her a grin.

Like it was said before, the Neovirals were never much of a threat.

"What odds're you giving on unauthorized construction projects?" asked Ray, swinging back in to join them as they passed the mouth of an alley.

"They WHAT?!"

"Slowed to a crawl," the 0 reiterates. "We'll have a CPU squad on the way pronto, but we thought you'd better be there as well."

"I'm on my way," Enzo agrees.

The binome nods and the vidwindow pwings shut.

"He's got the rocket skates!"

"Get the bazooka ammo he dropped! It's still in the cage where the cat-headed flying monkeys popped out of. I'll cut him off at the bridge! Go go go!"

"On it! Dani, there's a mithril flak vest over by the snake pit!"

"Check!"

"A chainsaw?" says Enzo, peering into the truck in dismay. "That's it? That's the cheat?"

"There's got to be more to it than that," Dani replies. "I think Danny was saying something about it before...before he got..."

Her voice trails off as her face crumples for a brief moment, but then she composes herself.

Enzo nods, swallowing hard himself, as he fishes the saw out of the truck. "He said to equip it as armour... huh?"

As he speaks, the chainsaw morphs into a right-handed iron gauntlet, apparently from a suit of medieval armour. "Weird!" says Enzo, sliding his hand in. "Now what?"

Huh. Surely trolls don't usually have quite so much rotting flesh hanging off them?

Surely. And forgive Dani if she looks just the slightest bit creeped out or disgusted.

"I guess we...wait for the User? Or go find him?" she suggests.

Dani will readily admit that she doesn't know anything about this game, beyond what information Danny was able to give them before he got taken out. Her only solution at the moment is to keep the User on this level and just keep destroying him until he runs out of lives.

"Almost there, guys!"

The User had a jetpack. The User ALSO had a speed cheat that affected how fast they went. AND a jetpack. As it stood, it was a race against time, with them trying to keep up, occasionally kill the User so he had to respawn farther back in the level. Dani was carrying Enzo, so Danny could lead and be zippy-quick to grab the keys, the last two of which, they were quickly approaching.

"Alphanumeric!"

Actually, aside from the BASIC cheating User making things a mite tense, the last part of the Game has been highly enjoyable. After all, they're whooshing right through the scenery, and the way ghost-power is transmitted Enzo feel like he's flying on his own, not just being carried. And, of course, he's flying with Dani.

Dani can't hide her own grin at Enzo's exclamation. "We should go flying next time you come to Milliways," she comments as they get closer to the keys. Much more fun than a zipboard or boogiebaud.

"We totally should! How fast d'you think you could fly around the grounds before they loop?"
